The conditions were testing early on after captain for the day, Mark Ford-Langstaff won the toss and decided to bat on a greenish, slightly damp wicket. It would be worse later on he stated and wasn’t wrong.

No need for a long match report this week. We didn’t bat very well with the possible exception of Howard who survived for 90 minutes and scored 28. We were on and off for rain and lightning but very much enjoyed a fine tea prepared by Tim Riley.

We did find time for a beer afterwards and even got the BBQ going (thank you Tim R again) so we could feed the Pelicans before they returned home.

Further thanks once again to Rona and Andrew Hickman for helping with the washing up and tidying away and to Howard who ran the bar and locked up. Much appreciated as ever.

Let’s hope for better weather next year.
