MSCC Annual Awards Dinner and Notice of AGM

Awards Dinner, AGM Notice And A Call For A New Fixture Secretary

On Friday 25th September we gathered at Middleton Stoney Cricket Club for our annual awards dinner, and what a night it was.

First, a big thank you to Mark Apsey and his team, who cooked us a lovely meal. Everyone left well fed and happy, so thank you.

Now, the awards. As in past years, every winner received a boundary flag with the details of their achievement printed on it, for posterity. The flags will be used on match days, a lovely reminder of past glories and some consolation as you chase the ball over the rope.

The Malta tour party were our award winners on the night.

Most improved bat: Mike Robinson

Ahmad: a century and five wickets against Iffley Village.

Unluckiest bowlers (most catches dropped): Olly Ross and Paul Wordsworth.

Hamidullah: four wickets in four balls against Oxenford.

New player of the year: James Bazeley

Captain’s Cup: Paul Wordsworth

President’s Cup: Mark Ford-Langstaff

Congratulations to everyone, and thanks to all who made the season so enjoyable.

Our AGM: Thursday 19th November, 7pm, Middleton Stoney Village Hall

Please come along. The AGM is your chance to influence the direction of the club, to be supportive of the people who keep it running, and to vote on matters arising, including who sits on the committee. Every voice counts, and the more of us in the room, the better the decisions.

We need a fixture secretary

Tim Riley is stepping down as fixture secretary, and we need someone to take over. It’s a vital job, and the club simply can’t run without it. Tim has started the process for next year so now is a great time to learn the ropes. If you can help, or want to know what’s involved, please get in touch ASAP. We’d be very grateful.

Can’t make the AGM? Please send your apologies to Matt Bazeley at mattbazeley539@yahoo.com.
