Please be aware that all players are responsible for doing ‘a cricket tea’ at least once a season. Alternatively, you might like to share the responsibility with another player and do two teas. The club will reimburse you up to £60. Sign up using the link above.

Sunday teas are traditionally home-made affairs, put together by members and their families in rotation.  They are considered some of the best teas served anywhere by many of our visiting opponents.

The teas vary from weekend to weekend, with a variety of choices. Should you have any dietary requirements, guests are more than welcome to bring their own picnics to avoid any possible disappointment, as with the after-match barbecue.

Every fixture concludes with a traditional barbecue outside our quaint and characterful clubhouse and its bar.

For those new to teas (or those like me, who can’t remember from year to year!). You can go full on Bake Off if you like but the minimum you will need is:

  • 4 loaves of sandwiches
  • 40 portions of cakes, biscuits or scones (~ 4 cakes)
  • 3 pints of milk
  • turn on the urn in plenty of time
  • and don’t forget to bring tea towels

Remember when doing teas, it is that is quite a big job and it includes the preparing and the cleaning up afterwards (and there’s typically help on hand). Those who do teas get preferential treatment in selection meetings!
